Course Description
Clinical supervision is the process by which the clinical practice provided by the counselor is evaluated and either modified or approved by the supervisor. This class prepares the addiction counselor with basic supervision tools and models to use as a standard of practice. The class will cover models model of supervision, counselor developmental level, cultural and contextual factors, ethical and legal issues, monitoring performance of the supervisee, methods of observation, practice issues in clinical supervision, and documentation issues. This three day class includes videotape skills practice and critique.
This is a Nonrefundable or nontransferable course due to limited class size of 12 students.
Time/Duration: The Hybrid section is a week long/self paced online classroom (7 hours) with links, handouts and resource material for class as well as where students take the final exam and course evaluation. Enrolled students will receive online classroom login/password the day prior to class start date. Virtual class meets online via Zoom from 8:30 – 5:00.( 14 hours) for 2 consecutive days.
